Tally

Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This policy explains what the Tally app ("Tally", "we") collects, why, and what you can do about it. Tally is run by Daniel Cabale in the Philippines. Questions: support@tallyprices.com.

What we collect

We don't collect your location, contacts or advertising ID, and Tally has no ads.

Receipt photos

When you scan a receipt, the photo is sent to our server and passed to Google's Gemini AI service, which reads the store, items and prices. We keep the text it reads, not the photo. Google processes the photo under its Gemini API terms.

How we use it

Only to run Tally: signing you in, saving and syncing your data, and showing grocery prices. We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.

Who else handles it

Security

All traffic between the app and our server is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) or from this page. This permanently deletes your account, receipts, prices you recorded, pantry, lists and linked sign-ins straight away. Shop prices collected from store websites aren't personal data and are kept.

Children

Tally isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 you can ask to see, correct or delete your data. Email support@tallyprices.com and we'll reply within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
